Relocating?

Moving to Juneau Alaska is an adventure worth the temporary stress of moving! A great transitional housing option is our abundant choice of vacation rentals, the downside is lack of pet friendly options. Checkout the Facebook group ‘Juneau Housing and Rentals’ for more options and contact me for links to reputable rental agencies (most require a minimum of a one year lease). If opting to purchase a home, I recommend you contact me a minimum of 3 months prior to your estimated arrival.

Buyers & Sellers

No matter your home buying or selling circumstances: first time, investor, divorce, downsizing, growing family, relocating, or even probate, I have probably been in your shoes. I hope that my own personal experiences over the years means I can truly relate to your unique needs. I would be happy to help you through every step of the home buying or selling process

Building a Home

What an exciting option to build a custom home! I would be happy to help you find the perfect spot to build your dream abode. I am often asked about this option, here are some things to
consider:

Buildable land in Juneau is not in abundance, and land with views often means building up steep driveways or parking on top and stairs down. It’s important to consider flooding, avalanches, soil contents and more before leaping into a land purchase.

Before purchasing land, be sure it is appropriately zoned for the type of building you envision.

  • Land is typically purchased separately with cash and not part of the home loan purchase. However land loans are a possibility and I would be happy to connect you with a lender that offers that option.
  • New Construction Loans typically require a minimum of 25% down, builders may require additional non-refundable down payments or earnest money.
  • Cost per square foot, depends entirely on the quality of the home and products you intend to use. Current building standards may mandate certain features like energy efficiency.
  • It is important to consider the cost of clearing the lot and bringing utilities to the land.
  • Reputable builders often have a wait list to build homes. A realistic timeframe for building is 6-8 months, but the builder may not be able to start construction for 1-2 years. Shipping delays which began during covid are a legitimate reason to be flexible with building timelines.
